    Transferring data from website tables to spreadsheet
    This can be awkward. The spreadsheet 'Paste Special | Paste HTML' can give patchy retults.

    Try:
  • Select and copy the webpage
  • Paste into a good word processor (we use star office)
  • Select and copy from the word processor
  • Paste into the spreadsheet

    Running Internet Explorer without add-ons (XP users)
    From the Start Menu :-
    All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet Explorer (no Add-ons)

    Saving an image from a website (where copyright permits)
    Right click the image and click 'Save Picture As'
    or depending on how the page is designed 'Save Background As'

    Taking a screenshot
    Press the 'print screen' key on your keyboard to copy the whole screen to the Windows clipboard.
    Press ALT + 'print screen' to copy only the current application/dialog box.

    What's the date ? (XP users)
    Let your mouse pointer hover over the time at the bottom right of the screen.
    The date will appear in a little box.
    Double clicking the time lets you set the time & date.

    Keep pressing Caps Lock by accident ? (XP users)
    Press the shift key 5 times to access 'Sticky Keys'
    Click 'Settings'
    Click 'Use Toggle Keys' and click OK
    Now Caps Lock beeps everytime you press it.
