There are lots of keyboard shortcuts to commonly used Windows features.

For example, to open Windows Explorer:
- Hold down the windows key (shown left)
- Tap the 'E' key
- Let go of the windows key

General Windows Shortcuts

Win + D : Minimize all windows and show the desktop

Win + E : Open Windows Explorer

Win + F : Open the 'Search' window

Win + R : Opens the 'Run' dialog box [ Novices steer clear ]




Internet Explorer Shortcuts

Home : Jump to the page top

End : Jump to the page bottom

Alt + Home : Go to your homepage

Alt + Left Arrow : Same as the 'Back' button

Alt + Right Arrow : Same as the 'Forward' button

Ctrl + E : Toggle the Search bar

Ctrl + F : Find text on the current page

Ctrl + H : Toggle the History bar

Ctrl + I : Toggle the Favourites bar

F4 : Open the address bar

F11 : Toggle full screen mode

TAB : Move forward through the links.
Enter : To select the link

Shift + TAB : Move backward through the links.




Excel Shortcuts

Ctrl + Home : Go to cell A1

Ctrl + Page Down : Go to next sheet

Ctrl + Page Up : Go to previous sheet




How To Cut and Paste Quickly

These work in many applications

Use your right hand on the mouse for selecting text.
- double click to highlight a word
- triple click to highlight the whole line

Use your left hand little finger and index finger on these shortcut keys :
- Ctrl + X : Cut to clipboard
- Ctrl + C : Copy to clipboard
- Ctrl + V : Paste
- Ctrl + Z : Undo
- Ctrl + Y : Re-do
